These terms apply to PaperSafe: Photo Backup (“PaperSafe” or “the app”), an iPhone app built by Sep Behroozi (“I”, “me”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Please read them carefully.
The app
PaperSafe is free. It backs up the photos and videos in your photo library to a Telegram chat in your own Telegram account and lets you view them and save them back to your iPhone. The app, its name and all the intellectual property rights related to it belong to Sep Behroozi, except for the open-source components listed in the app under Settings, About, which stay under their own licenses. You may not copy, modify or redistribute the app or try to extract its source code, except as those licenses allow for those components.
Telegram
PaperSafe is an independent app. It is not made, endorsed or supported by Telegram. To use it you need a Telegram account, and your use of Telegram, including the storage of your backups, is subject to Telegram’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You are responsible for your Telegram account and for the content you back up to it. Telegram may limit, change or stop its service, and I can’t control that.
Your backups
PaperSafe works hard to keep every item it can see in your library backed up, but no backup is guaranteed. Items in your Hidden album are not backed up, nor are files larger than Telegram allows, and if you allow access to only some photos, only those are backed up. Backups need a working internet connection and enough space on your iPhone, and they depend on iOS, your photo library and Telegram. Check the Backup Status screen in the app to see what is backed up. I’m not responsible for any loss of photos, videos or other data, however caused, to the extent the law allows.
Deleting an item on your iPhone never deletes its backup in Telegram. PaperSafe deletes only its own outdated copies of photo edits and previews that it uploaded, and uploads it cancels before they finish; it never deletes a backed-up original. Backups you want removed must be deleted in Telegram. If the item is still on your iPhone and Backup is on, PaperSafe uploads it again, so delete it from your iPhone first or turn Backup off.
If you switch to another backup chat, the old copies stay in the previous chat until you delete them in Telegram.
If you back up to a channel or group that other people can see, they can see your photos and videos. Choosing that chat is your decision.
Data charges
Backups can use a lot of data. By default, PaperSafe waits for Wi-Fi before it starts an upload. If you turn on Use Cellular Data in Settings, your mobile operator’s charges apply, including roaming.
Even with that setting off, an upload already under way when you leave Wi-Fi can finish over cellular data, and viewing, sharing or saving items from Telegram or iCloud uses whatever connection you are on.
Updates and availability
I may update the app, change its features or stop offering it at any time. Some versions of iOS may stop being supported. If the app is no longer offered, your backups stay in your Telegram account.
No warranty
The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. Changes are posted on this page.
